Katie Furlong graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Bkin) in 2017.
While in her final semester of school, she made the move to Nova Scotia to complete a four-month field
placement with PtHealth and hasn’t left since.
Over the course of her degree, Katie developed a strong passion for health and wellness through a wide
variety of courses she took and the volunteering she did within the community. She specifically enjoyed
her time volunteering with youth of varying abilities and took an active role in providing them with
opportunities for sport and leisure. With her own personal rehabilitation journey, Katie developped a vast
appreciation and passion for Kinesiology.
Originally from Whitehorse, Yukon, Katie grew up in a place that valued a more alternative,
multidimensional and holistic approach to healthcare. She hopes to one day pursue further education in a
field that allows her to combine her passions for rehabilitation and alternative health methods to create
positive, meaningful changes in the well-being and health of others.
In her spare time, you will find Katie exploring the beautiful province she now calls home with her
Saskatchewanian boyfriend and her spirited border collie, Sammy.
